The belly at Bluebird.

On the way home from our childbirth class the other night, we knew what we had to do.icecream1

Chocolate. Milkshake.

Per our routine when such cravings strike, we headed to Bluebird Microcreamery on Phinney and indulged. At first the tall, Emo-esque ice cream guy murmured that they were out of my favorite–the Chocolate Pudding–but became afraid by the look on my face and quickly remedied the dire situation by giving me a sample of the Theo Chocolate Chunk.

He filled it to overflowing.  He apologized profusely for the fact that it was everywhere. I had to assure him that the mound of extra milkshake creating such a mess was no problem.
“At this point, I have no shame,” I admitted. “I would lick that little spill of it off your counter if it weren’t against health code.”

He chuckled nervously. I was only half kidding.icecream3

It was delicious. It was perfection.

It was not the last time we’ll end up there at 9:45pm on a weeknight, I can promise you that.

And if you’re ever in the Seattle area with a hankering for superb ice cream (or beer, as a matter of fact), go to Bluebird.
Maybe you’ll see this cute couple there…

And Peanut makes three.

And Peanut makes three.

Oh–and if you’ve lost track, this is also Week 31. I can’t even talk about it.icecream5
