I married my very own handyman on August 22, 2010.
It was lovely. And I still find it surreal.
And I thought it only fair to share a bit about us since I definitely do not write this blog alone. Kenny shows up in here plenty [like here and here, for example] and maybe one day I’ll actually get him to put down his hammer and write a post. But let’s not hold our breath, mmmkay?
Our story dates back to the fall of 2004- a plate of brownies, a mutual love of milk, and a dishwasher. We have had our fair share of ups, downs, curveballs, roscoes, heartache, joy, prayer, lessons, and laughter [you can read a sweet little history here, in honor of our first anniversary].
We are grateful for every moment that led us to this one and take each day as it comes. We think each other is at times infuriating, often confusing, but mainly hilarious. Embracing imperfections keeps us sane. In fact, I could write on and on about us, but our basic mission as a couple is this: we hope to encourage others with our story, especially young adults navigating the relationship world, and hope to honor God with our marriage.
Most nights we’re happy with our ice cream and VHS by the fire. Some people would say that we are boring. Or cheap. Some would say we’re awesome.
We are now in the midst of a brand new/terrifying adventure: parenthood. Our little Peanut made his way into the world in May and now you get to knowthe very best sides of me: sleep-deprived, overwhelmed, and leaning on God. What could be better?
